Since I updated our blog while on the trip, you probably know that we recently made a trip to our friends Chani and Marilyn's cabin in Green Valley Lake, CA. We had a wonderful time drinking hot chocolate, sitting around the fireplace, cooking homemade meals, taking walks down to the lake, fishing, reading, watching movies, and taking a day trip to Big Bear for lunch and to ride the Alpine Slides.
As you know, not too long ago a fire wiped out a great deal of the forests in the San Bernardino mountains, including many homes in the GV Lake area. Here's what was left of one of the cabins/residences:
Here we are actually riding the slide. You can hear Carter telling me not to drop the camera and requesting that he hold it.
Post ride celebratory gesture. By the way, there were some Asian tourists who went very slowly down the slides and as they watched Carter and I barrel down the slide without using the brakes at all they were a bit shocked...but you should have seen their faces when we hopped off the slide and Carter busted this move. I don't know what they were thinking, but I am sure they thought I was raising a future hellian):
I also have to say I actually approve of the jazzy music you have on here, I usually mute our speakers while blog surfing because I hate loud music I don't like being forced upon me, but yours is relaxing... ahhhhhh.
What wonderful pictures you take of your family! How come everytime I visit your blog, you look thinner and thinner! Teach me your ways, Master Dan!
These pictures are oh-so-all-american-country-pie-good times! haha! Here are some of my favorites - the first one - family picture. Carter going down the stairs. Cheesy couple picture taken by you. Baby girl at the wheel. Yummy fritatta. Piglet transformation. Fishing with dad. Mommy and Carter on the slides.
So the Alpine slide .. only 20 minutes away! I would love to see you when you come to Utah.. Do you have family here? Next time you are in town will you let me know, i would love to go to lunch or have you over for dinner. I know the kids would have a great time playing. You have a good looking family! Hope to here from you soon.

Now you HAVE to watch Arrested Development, as that last picture of Carter is all Buster!!!
And it DOES look like fun. I love the alpine slides we did that with the Aleman family, only we went on Memorial Day weekend and waited in LONG lines!
Plus, the snow must have put you in the holiday spirit of things, I am jealous.
