Sometimes truth is stranger than fiction and in the case of robotics, this also rings true. This particular robot, which is partially funded by DARPA (US defense research) is much"scarier" than anything I've seen in a sci-fi movie (by the way, make sure you skip ahead a bit to the part when they kick the robot!):
Image how cool it would be to use robots like this for search and rescue!

It almost looks like two guys facing each other under some kind of ruck sack. Talk about resiliency. It was slippin' and slidin' all over the ice but kept its balance. Yes, when the dude kicked him, I just about felt its annoyance of being kicked while still standing. This is one brash robot. Although its buzzing noise is a little too much.
And here we've been dancing the robot incorrectly our whole lives like a bunch of suckers!!
